Synopsis

We open with top secret footage of terrorist suspect Jahan Sufi being forced to tell his interrogator, the diabolical Mr. Green, the names of all his contacts in the United States.

Next we are in an unmarked car following an American woman, Anoush Karagozian, suspected to be a female version of John Walker Lindh. But her only suspicious behavior is her associations with her Syrian boyfriend, Shazhad Mohamed Susa and her Arab boss, Reza Bayul. However, this is plenty to go on for the special agents working under the jurisdiction of the homeland security act.  Anoush is put under surveillance, accosted and eventually kidnapped and brought in for questioning at a secret facility. No warrant, no formal charges.

At first Anoush is belligerent, offended and confused by the double talk and unfair treatment of her captors. But within days of starvation, isolation and the psychological riddles of Mr. Green, Anoush begins to break down. She is periodically dragged from her cell to be brutalized, tortured, interrogated, drugged and subjected to a series of cruel and disturbing brainwashing tapes that leave her disoriented and unsure of the truth.  She is even dragged from her cell by masked militants, forced to make a video tape of a false confession saying that she is a spy after which she is slammed to the floor with a knife on her neck and the threat of decapitation, “JUST LIKE YOUR FRIENDS DO TO US OVER THERE!!!” the patriotic militants scream as they saw into her flesh. “GOD BLESS AMERICA!!”

Eventually Anoush is brought to her old boyfriend, the one that turned her in, Jahan Sufi, who has been subjected to a terrible cutting torture. Anoush is told that if she kills him she can go home. She refuses and is brought to get the cutting torture herself. But she is suddenly rescued by one of the agents who had originally captured her. He says he had a change of heart. As they drive he tries to get her to agree to work for her captors as a mole in the Arab community. When she refuses he brings her back to the compound and she is nailed into a tiny box. When she is released many days later she is insane. At last in an attempt to get rid of her or get something on her, they put a man in her cell, a psychopathic cannibal killer who has been kept in their prison for some unknown purpose. He wants to rape her and eat her. She just wants to survive. When the psychopath finally falls asleep she quietly ties his hands and feet with her torn gown and chokes him to death. She has killed and her life will never be the same.

Using this, her brainwasher Mr. Green sets up one last diabolical murder for her to perform and then she will be set free. She must kill the one she loves. In a compelling final prison scene she does what he wants, as horrible as it is, and is soon released into freedom. But she is now in the pay and at the beaconed call of Mr. Green's terrible political agenda. She can’t help herself: she has been conditioned for it.

She is a mole for the state, ready to betray her Arab friends at a moments notice, which she does.

Using a mix of recreated secret surveillance tapes collected by The US Army Department of Psychological Warfare, PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: AMERICAN TORTURE ROOM has the feel of a real time horror thriller in vein of “24” and SAW mixed with a brutal 60 minutes exposé on Guantanemo Bay.

The following appears at the films head:

DISCLAIMER CARD

"The following story is based on recordings taken from over 72 hours of encrypted video tapes collected by the United States Army Department of Psychological Warfare. Many of the actual recordings are used in this film. These tapes were brought to us by an anonymous source. The distributor is not responsible for its contents.”

NOTE: There are a number of lawsuits filed against the US Army by former soldiers claiming to be suffering from serious mental illness due to experimental drugs that were administered to them during mock interrogations and trial brainwashing experiments.
