MEGA PIRANHA is coming in for the Kill on SyFy Channel in April
Where can you see 80s pop star Tiffany go nose to nose with everyone’s favorite man-eating jungle fish? On SyFy Channel, April 10th, in the action packed creature feature, Mega Piranha, written and directed by Eric Forsberg.
But fear not - Tiffany’s not alone - she’s joined by 70s television icon, Barry Williams and action hero, Paul Logan.
Tiffany portrays Professor Sarah Monroe, a maverick scientist working in Venezuela on a genetically redesigned piranha (Lot L-23). The fish is an experiment to create a more robust local food supply. But instead of people eating the piranha, the piranhas escape and start eating the people. The genetically mutated fish grow exponentially both in size and numbers, moving quickly down river, destroying everything in their path. Prof. Monroe solicits the help of Special Operative, Jason Fitch (Paul Logan) who has been sent to Venezuela to investigate the deaths. With the help of Fitch’s boss, Secretary Bob Grady (Barry Williams), Prof. Monroe and Jason Fitch chase the Piranha all the way to the river mouth and then out into the open sea – where the now gigantic piranha turn their blood lust north, on Florida. And the Mega Piranha will never stop growing. By the time they reach the southern United States, they are the size of whales. And nothing can stop them, except maybe an all-out underwater war – man vs fish – “and that’s all they are, nothing but fish.”**
Writer/Director, Eric Forsberg (Snakes on a Train, Sex Pot), takes us on a high intensity, non stop roller coaster ride of fish attacks, helicopter battles, car chases, and submarine warfare against the biggest creatures ever to breathe on planet Earth. Produced by the Asylum, Mega Piranha follows in the highly successful footsteps of last year’s Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus – (no doubt the inspiration for Roger Corman’s latest film, Sharktopus, also playing on SyFy Channel later in the year).
